A Statistical Analysis of the Loss of Vocations in Religious Congregations Following the
Second Vatican Council

The study we present below is indisputable proof of the devastated vineyard in the Catholic Church since the close of Vatican II in 1965. It takes it's name from the title of the classic book "The Devastated Vineyard" penned by the great philosopher and friend of Pope Pius XII, Dietrich von Hildebrand in 1973, just three years after the introduction of the Novus Ordo mass under Paul VI. Pope Pius XII informally referred to von Hildebrand as a Twentieth Century Doctor of the Church. Certainly, as our study proves, the devastation has been much more than von Hildebrand could have ever imagined.

This study is available to read online or as a free download. At the bottom of this post are two books germane to our subject by von Hildebrand and one by Msgr. Klaus Gamber on the destructive effect of the Novus Ordo on the faith itself. Gamber's book was most highly praised by Pope Benedict XVI as Cardinal Ratzinger.

Jack P. Oostveen is educated as a Practical and Scientific Civil Engineer, experienced consultant and research engineer in the field of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. Since 2012 he is Emeritus Assistant Professor in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering of the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands.

Jack converted into the Roman Catholic Church in 1970. Since 1979 he has been involved with the "Interparochie Maria van Nazareth," an unofficial group of faithful attached to the Traditional Mass in Delft, The Netherlands, and board-member from 1986 to 1996. Being involved with the work of the International Federation Una Voce since 1995, beginning in 1997 Jack founded "Ecclesia Dei Delft" that took over the activities of "Interparochie Maria van Nazareth." Jack has been President of “Ecclesia Dei Delft” since 1997.

In 1995 he became a member of the International Federation Una Voce.

President from 2006 to 2007, during which the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum was received
Vice-president from 2005-2006 and from 2007 to 2013
Was involved in a world wide action pro Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in 2014
